MENTOR, Ohio — School officials in Mentor say Memorial Middle School was evacuated Monday morning 'due to smoke discovered on the second floor' near room 219 – which is a science room. 'Everyone is out of the school and is safe,' according to a tweet from Mentor Schools at 10:24 a.m. 'Mentor Fire is on the scene. We will update you as soon as we know more information.' The district shared an update a short time later to announce the Mentor Fire Department had cleared the building with students and staff returning inside.
